While we are super keen to offer our amazing tour experience again, please know there are some important changes you need to be aware of before you book with us:
- Most wineries now require bookings, and many have implemented paid tastings (this is regardless of group size, and whether you’re driving yourself or on TrailHopper). So please know you’ll need to organize your group’s day in advance by booking in to your desired venues before the tour departs. Our InfoPack contains all you need to know about the venues on this tour and we’re always on hand to help. We know this isn’t ideal, but it’s out of our hands.
- We have introduced additional Covid-19 safety protocols to protect guests and staff, which you can read about via the ‘Golden Rules‘ page (this info is also in the InfoPack).
The best part is that the wine, the scenery, and the sheer enjoyment of being out on tour with us is as special as always.
We truly hope you’ll come on board soon and support not only our staff and business but those of the awesome venues and regions we visit.

Golden Rules
Please see our Golden Rules for helping you to get the most out of your day.
Scenery
Barossa is a beautiful region, with historic villages, vineyards and farms dotting a patchwork vista. For us, the scenery from within the cellar doors is as impressive as it is from the road, with tasting rooms steeped in history and atmopshere, or newly sited to make the most of stunning surrounds.
Wine
With over 150 wineries, 550 grape growing families and some of the oldest vines in the world, it’s no wonder Barossa stands as one of the world’s great wine regions. Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling have led the way as regional heroes, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro, Grenache, Semillon and Fortified wines all contributing to Barossa’s reputation.
Food
Our trail features a variety of the region’s best offerings – whether it’s Maggie Beer’s must-visit shop, the wood fired pizzas at Saltram, or the various bakeries, cheesemongers and cafes at Angaston and Tanunda. Alternatively you could always bring a picnic and relax in the beautiful lush gardens of Yalumba.
Freedom
We are proud to give you Barossa Valley as though you were driving yourself. Join us in the city or within the region and hop on or off along our trail as you please. Frequently Asked Questions
All of our city location pickups are collected from the Stamford Plaza - 150 North Terrace Adelaide SA 5000
Yes children are welcome onboard, however, please take note of the following:
1 Baby Seats / Boosters - Unfortunately there is no way for guests to bring or install car seats, as there are literally no anchor points. Legally our 20-seat buses are defined as 'omnibuses' which are any 'real' buses defined as above 13 seats. As such, like a public transport passenger bus or tram, children under 5 would have to ride on their parents at their own risk, and TrailHopper is not legally liable for any child passenger under 16 years old.
2 Prams, Strollers & Luggage - Unfortunately we have no storage space for large items such as prams. Also, due to health and safety regulations, our aisles are officially designated as 'Emergency Exits', so unless it is an umbrella pram or item that can fold up be stored under the guests' own seat then we cannot accept prams onboard.
3 In terms of child fares, children aged 5 or older are charged at the full seat rate. Children under 5 that can ride on their parents laps may travel free of charge.
All of our pickups within the region are at the information centers:
Adelaide Hills Tour:
Adelaide Hills Visitor Information Centre 68 Mount Barker Rd, Hahndorf SA 5245
McLaren Vale Tour:
McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre 796 Main Rd, McLaren Vale SA 5171
Barossa Valley Tour:
Barossa Visitor Centre 66/68 Murray St, Tanunda SA 5352
Yes there will be other guests on the bus as we are not a private tour.
Yes you are more than welcome to make sure there is no disappointment its best to book in advance.

Did this tour last weekend. Teresa the guide was great (helpful, good sense of humour and good driver). This format is fantastic. I love my wine and most tours go... read more to the touristy larger places. I love that you can customise this as much as you like. We did Alpha Box (more funky wines and intimate space), Coriole (beautiful gardens), Chapel Hill (great team and Grenache). We stayed two hours at Chapel and walked 300m to Samuel’s Gorge which I would highly recommend doing as that winery was the highlight. Incredible wine and boutique cellar door with beautiful views.
