Sauvignon Blanc in the Adelaide Hills

The Adelaide Hills produces some diverse wines packed with high acidity and elegance. Considered the most vibrant  cool-climate wine region in Australia, the Adelaide Hills is renowned for their Sauvignon Blanc. So, what are our favourite drops?

2018 Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc – this wine is considered the benchmark of Sauvignon Blanc in the Adelaide Hills. Typically showing a pink grapefruit characteristic, with concentration and mid-palate texture, this is reflective of the carefully selected sites and hand harvesting of the fruit during the small window of perfect ripeness.

2017 Nepenthe Sauvignon Blanc – passionfruit and gooseberry aromas dominate this wine, along with hints of fresh cut grass and green apple. The 2017 Nepenthe Sauvignon Blanc is simultaneously intense and elegant with a great depth of flavour.

2018 Bird in Hand Sauvignon Blanc – notes of passionfruit, pineapple and grapefruit dominate this wine. This Sauvignon Blanc shows lifted, fresh and punchy aromas and flavours with light citrus acidity. In 2017, the Bird in Hand Sauvignon Blanc was awarded ‘Sauvignon Blanc of the Year’ by the annual Winestate awards.
