How it Works
TrailHopper offers Adelaide’s only hop on, hop off wine tour service departing from the CBD and showcasing 3 of South Australia’s finest wine regions – the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and Hahndorf & Adelaide Hills.
Our philosophy is simple: we aim to make it easy, fun, safe and affordable to visit SA’s outstanding regional destinations. Our tours from Adelaide offer all of the flexibility and enjoyment of driving yourself, without the risks of drink driving or the compromise of having a designated driver.
In a nutshell: Our comfortable bus collects from a convenient Adelaide CBD location in the morning (the Stamford Plaza Hotel), then once in the region we follow a recurring timetable circuit that takes 50-60 minutes to complete, in which time we visit all 10-15 of the selected venues. We follow this same timetable each and every hour until it’s time to return to the city in the late afternoon (approx 5pm).
Along the way you are free to hop on or off at any of the established stops, so that in a full day tour you are likely to see up to 4 wineries of your choosing, at your own pace, and independently from the other groups on the bus. This is how you tour your way.
How to get started:
- Select Your Tour – view our tours and select the one you like on the date you wish to tour.
- Purchase Tickets – it’s best to book in advance via our website. Alternatively we accept credit card payments onboard the bus, which you can join at any of the stops along our circuit (subject to seating availability).
- Tour Your Way! – board the bus at any of the pickup locations described in your ticket. Hop off the bus at any of the stops along the circuit, then hop back on again when you’re ready to move on. It’s that simple.
We believe planning ahead helps enormously to get the most out of your day. To support this we have produced handy info-packs that include your timetable, a short blurb about each destination we visit, and instructions on how best to plan your day:
Hint – we recommend choosing where you want to eat lunch, then working your way outwards from there!
